| Abstract: | Prescribes treatment of various symptoms associated with low back pain, which are traced to socially inhibited motor expression of emotional drives. Rigidity and spasms often indicate social maladjustment. In this case, practical alternatives to pure psychotherapy include its combination with the Shultz-Johnson, yoga, or the Ajuriaguerra relaxation methods. In patients over 40 yrs of age, the equivalents of somatic depression can appear. This calls for treatment with antidepressants according to a precise schedule. Also mentioned is hysterical conversion, which seems to occur most often in women experiencing sexual problems. |
