| Abstract: | (from the book) The author reflects on the transpersonal psychology of the Bhagavad-Gītā and its implications for understanding consciousness, meditation, work and love. She concludes that karma yoga as enunciated in the Bhagavad-Gītā will help the cultivation of positive emotions by reducing negative emotions. The negative tendencies of the mind such as frustration, anxiety, etc., are annulled by the positive mode of acceptance. The Bhagavad-Gītā theory of meditation helps to strengthen the mental faculty by the therapy of watching thoughts. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved) (book) |
