| Abstract: | The article focuses on practicing yoga with common sense and learning proper techniques that can help reduce the risk of injury. The Medical Society of the State of New York is dedicated to preventing or reducing the risk of injuries. The intention of yoga, is not to compete or show off, but to use focused attention, conscious effort and relaxation to achieve results. This can be done by practicing yoga with awareness, common sense, and self-respect. Many common yoga injuries occur during straight-leg forward bends from a standing or seated position. |
