| Abstract: | This article focuses on a study which found that regular yoga practitioners put on less weight in middle age. The study used data from 15,500 men and women ages 53-57. Among those who had been normal weight at age 45, though, only a tiny fraction--102 participants--had practiced yoga for four or more years, at least 30 minutes weekly. Their average weight gain was 3.1 pounds less than their non-yoga-practicing peers. |
