| Abstract: | Reviews the research on the use of alternative medicine in the treatment of asthma. Many different techniques apply principles that appear to lead to relaxation and have a common thread of using mental attitude or conscious control to influence bronchomotor tone. Acupuncture, hypnosis, and yoga appear to have some degree of efficacy but rarely as great as that achieved with conventional phamaceuticals.
